Over two exciting days, bring family and friends together for a weekend of entertainment, activities, market stalls, food, wine and more at the Frankston Waterfront Festival 2014.

The Frankston Waterfront Festival is the City’s annual celebration of its iconic waterfront, award winning beach, bayside location and relaxed lifestyle. With live music all weekend you are invited to get involved in all of the activities on offer, from stand up paddle boarding and skimboarding, to enjoying great food, wine, beer and cider or latin dance in the sunshine. Kids can swim with a mermaiden and discover a love for growing their own fruit and vegetables and everyone can take home a treat with the expanded market stalls selling art, craft, clothing, locally made cupcakes, preserves and more!

Don’t miss the fireworks at 9:45pm on Saturday night with headline act INXSIVE.

There is no better way to spend a summer’s weekend than by the bay, with good friends, great food and memorable entertainment.

Live ‘n’ Local Main Stage
The Live’n’Local stage is the ideal spot to settle in for the afternoon and enjoy two-days of jazz, funk, indie, pop and rock music. The live music continues through Sunday, so make sure you get there early and secure your spot up front and in the sun.

Water Activities
At the water’s edge you can start the weekend by trying something new. Everyone is invited to have a go at stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing, out-rigging and skimboarding.

Taste, See and Explore Market Place
The Taste, See and Explore Market Place is a new addition to the festival, expanding on the displays from local tourism operators, so make your way over to discover amazing locally made goods. There will be hand-made children's goods, stained glass effect window stickers, henna art, jewellery and ladies baby and children's clothing, footwear, bedding, toys, soy candles, homewares, and a range of gourmet foods, including fresh fudge and sauces, cupcakes, brownies, gourmet nuts and pet treats.

This is a great opportunity to find the perfect souvenir of your summer time at the festival and in Frankston.

Beer & Wine Garden
As if designed by the heavens, the Beer and Wine Garden is ideally located right near the Live’n’Local stage, promising you prime positioning for the weekends live music.

Mornington Brewery, T’Gallant Winemakers and Cheeky Rascal Cider will be making sure that you don’t go thirsty while you enjoy your weekend with friends.
This is the perfect spot to sit back and relax in the sun while enjoying the entertainment.

Waterfront Dining
A weekend on the waterfront is not complete without delicious food and at the festival there will be plenty to keep you wanting more. Tantalise your tastebuds and relax with family and friends with a range of gourmet food from across the region. From Filipino BBQ skewers to tacos, Kangaroo and Crocodile burgers to crepes and ice-cream and of course quality coffee vendors, there is something for everyone.

Lifestyle Zone – Frankston Mornington Peninsula Medicare Local
Make sure you visit the Lifestyle Zone presented by Frankston-Mornington Peninsula Medicare Local where you can find out about local products and services. From skin consultations from the team at Know Your Own Skin and displays by South East Water and local environmental Friends Groups to planting your own edible plant and giant chess, this area is great fun for the whole family.

Eden Gardens Children’s Zone
In the Eden Gardens Children’s Zone, children can take part in the interactive vegetable garden display and learn how to plant and care for their own vegetables and flowers. Fun and educational, parents can also take advantage of our expert horticulturalist who will be onsite to answer your gardening questions. Garden experts can try the Eden Gardening Quiz for a chance to win great prizes.

Challenge Arena
Challenge yourself at the Goodlife Health Clubs Karingal, Challenge Arena. Watch the demonstrations then jump in and have a go for yourself. Discover your love for Latin dance, get tips to perfect your bowling, relax with yoga and enjoy stacks of high energy performances from local dance and performance groups. This is a great way to have fun and learn while you’re at it.

Swim with a Mermaiden
Meet and swim with Nerissa, a quirky fun-loving mermaiden who loves putting smiles on faces. Kids can get in the water with Nerissa as she swims, dives and glides through the waves. See her shimmering blue tail dazzle in the sunlight as she performs, sings, and tells stories about life under the sea. This special event is guaranteed to delight and enchant festival goers of all ages.

Stand Up Paddling – Australian Open
Presented by Peninsula Stand Up Paddle & Frankston City Council
You’re in for a treat when you get front row seats to the Stand Up Paddling - Australian Open at the Festival.
Novice and experienced paddlers can choose from a range of events over the two days of racing – from a challenging 10km downwind event to a shorter 1500m race, as well as races for the kids. There will also be a SUP-X race where Victoria’s best SUP racers will battle it out around a twisting and turning course.

Pro-SUP surfer Roger Saunders from northern NSW, will again be attending the event to hold clinics and demonstrations and kids up to the age of 16 will be able to try their hand at SUP racing as well as there will be lots of SUP boards available to get them inspired.
Stand Up Paddling is fun for all the family - from six to over 60s – anyone can do it!

Peninsula Arts Society and Friends Exhibition
Frankston Mechanics Hall, Plowman Place, Frankston
Paintings, displays, demonstrations and sales from a range of local organisations including Peninsula Arts Society Textiles, Peninsula Woodturners Guild, Mornington Peninsula Embroiderers Guild, McClelland Spinners and Weavers, Brenda Pettitt, Glass Mosaics and Jewellery and Frankston and Peninsula Lapidary Club. The Peninsula Arts Society is also mounting a display which will take the form of hyperbolic crochet which replicates the form of coral. The aim is to draw attention to the threat of damage to the Great Barrier Reef. This is another fantastic opportunity to take home a gift for someone special.
The Red Cross will be onsite providing refreshments, entry is free, parking available and the venue is wheelchair friendly

Rides and Amusements
The young and the young at heart can enjoy all the fun and excitement of the rides and amusements as you jump, slip, slide and scream your weekend away. Catch a glimpse of the entire festival and beyond from on top of the Ferris wheel.

Youth Hangout – CD Launch and Silent Disco (Silent Disco Saturday night only)
Chill out on bean bags during the day while watching some local acoustic performers and bands. A CD of the performers recorded at the Fresh Entertainment youth recording studio will be available for FREE on the day. In the evening it's time to party with the Silent Disco where you will be able to dance to music using wireless headphones. Rather than a speaker system, music is broadcast via a radio transmitter signal direct to the wireless headphones. Dance loudly in silence!

Sand Sculpting Australia Exhibition 'Story Land'
Wander through the spectacular sand creations at Sand Sculpting Australia’s ‘Story Land’ Exhibition. Open daily from 26 December until 26 April immerse yourself into a world where reality and fantasy combine as we bring to life popular Penguin book titles including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Mr. Men and Little Miss Books, Angry Birds, Postman Pat, Angelina Ballerina, Flower Fairies and so many more!
